January 18, 2004: Announcing the 1st Ever Region 4 Spring Away Team.
Join us this Spring as Region 4 congregates in Monterey for a whale watching expedition! Current plans are to embark on a whale watching tour on the last Saturday of this coming March (March 27). It will be an afternoon tour, so it will allow those who wish to drive up the same day to attend. For those who wish to make a weekend out of it, we are planning on attending the Monterey bay aquarium (a.k.a. the Cetacean Institute from ST:IV) on Sunday. We will be locating a Motel or Hotel in the area with reasonable costs for those who want to stay over night and would like a common location for all to stay in (for socializing, room parties, etc..). Additional information, and Solid Details will be posted in the next 1 to 2 weeks.
TENTATIVE DETAILS
When: March 27 (Saturday)
Time: 1:30 PM (Expedition is 3 hours, yes, a 3 hour tour!)
Where: Monterey Bay, leaving from fisherman's Warf.
COSTS
Adults: $27.00
Children (4 to 12): $18.00
3 & Under: Free
For more information on the Whale Watching Tour, check out their website at: http://www.gowhales.com
PLEASE DO NOT MAKE RESERVATIONS ON YOUR OWN YET! We are currently trying to get a group tour package together. If you decide to register on your own right now, you may end up on a different tour! Further details will be posted in the next 1 to 2 weeks!
Hope to see all of you there!!

January 11, 2004:
Cascade Station invites one and all to come up to Redding and celebrate the10th Anniversary of the Commissioning of the first Space Station in
STARFLEET!
Cascade Station 10th Anniversary
"10 Years and a Chihuahua for this?!?"
Time: 6:30 PM
Location: Either the Senior Center or the Legion Hall in Shasta Lake City -
E-mail Edy Sherrick at badgey@excite.com for directions
Date: February 7, 2004
Dinner will be provided by the Boy Scouts of America (Offhand, don't know
the troop number, sorry!) and will consist of Tri Tip with Beans and a
Salad. Drinks will be provided and sorry, but that's the only meal option
(What can you ask, the Boy Scouts do this thing to raise money!) However, if you do have dietary needs, we encourage you to bring your own food, but we would ask that you give something to the Boy Scouts for their hard work. Desserts will consist of Cakes and other delights, that will be $1.00 per piece (And we're pretty generous, so you'll get your bucks worth!) and those proceeds will assist the chapter.
Activities: Award Presentations, and whatever else we can come up with!
If you do plan to make the trip, please RSVP to me at capt_ed@shasta.com so we have a count for the Boy Scouts.
Hope you can make it!

May 26, 2003: Region 4 Command Summit Driving Directions: CLICK HERE FOR DRIVING DIRECTIONS VIA MAPQUEST
Address and phone are:
Parkwood Apartments
7000 Fair Oaks Blvd Apt 23
Carmichael, CA 95608
phone: (916) 549-4922 [home/cell]
If you are coming from the central valley or southern California:
99 north or I-5 north both result in them combining at, oddly enough,
Sacramento! As you come into town, take the highway 50 East exit. From there it's about another 5 to 7 miles to the Watt Avenue exit. As you leave the highway take the North exit. From there you will cross the river. Turn RIGHT at the next light-- that's Fair Oaks Blvd. I'm about 4 to 5 miles up the way on the right hand side, it will say Parkwood on a bunch of flags. Note: landmark directly opposite the street from my complex is the Carmichael post office. I AM #23, AT THE NORTH END OF THE COMPLEX. ALL UNCOVERED OR UN-NUMBERED PARKING
SPOTS ARE OK FOR PARKING. Do NOT park in the numbered ones please.
If you are coming in via I-80 going east: Your way is slightly different, but simple. Stay on I-80 as you get toward Sacramento, continuing on past I-5. It's about another 10 miles to the Madison Avenue exit. As you leave the highway stay to your right, and then turn right on to Madison. This goes through about 5 or 6 lights until you get to Manzanita Avenue. Turn right. It is then about another 6 lights (or about 3 to 4 miles) until Manzanita turns into Fair Oaks Blvd. This change will occur as you pass
Denny's at the 4 mile mark, which is on your right. After you pass Denny's it's another 2 lights, the last one you pass through being Grant Street. As soon as you pass Grant Street, look to your left for the gated, gray colored community known as Parkwood. Note: landmark directly opposite the street from my complex is the Carmichael post office. I AM #23, AT THE NORTH END OF THE COMPLEX. ALL UNCOVERED OR UN-NUMBERED PARKING SPOTS ARE OK FOR PARKING. Do NOT park in the numbered ones please.

Also, I NEED NEED NEED to know who will be attending. Remember, this Summit is a CO's summit. CO's are preferred but if you can't attend, I need to know who your designate will be.
