Popular Las Vegas Attractions

  Agenda

While the conference itself will be held on Saturday evening, we have a lot of stuff lined up for those in attendance to enjoy, starting with a trip to the Fremont Street Experience on Friday night. Those arriving early can join fellow 'Fleeters on an impromptu away mission to one of the most popular destinations in Las Vegas! The Fremont Street Experience features an overhead canopy that stretches over 1,400 feet, has 12.5 million synchronized LED lighting modules and 550,000 watts of sound that would make even George Lucas happy. A must-see for all first time visitors to Vegas, the Fremont Street Experience isn't complete without a visit to one of the eateries that line the streets under the canopy. I mean, where else are you going to be able to find deep-fried twinkies so freely available?

Next up, on Saturday, we have a packed day of fighting off rouge Klingons and resisting the Borg Queen herself at Star Trek: The Experience. We'll meet in front of the Experience, located in the Hilton's SpaceQuest Casino, starting at 11 AM. Region 4 staff will be on hand to hand out registration materials and get everyone their tickets. The attractions open at 11:30, and the first voyages depart at 12:00 PM sharp. The tickets are good for all day, and as many times as you wish to do battle with your favorite Trek aliens.

Saturday night features dinner and the meeting at the brand-new Captain's Lounge, located on the second level of the Experience, directly above the galactically-famous Quark's Bar and Grill. Starting at 6:30 PM, there'll be a no-host bar, with dinner featuring a carving station with Prime Rib, pasta and green salads, smashed potatoes, Chef's choice vegetables, along with desert selections, rolls, coffee, and tea. After that, starting at 8 PM, we'll have the business meeting, which features a report on the state of the Region from our Regional Coordinator, Chrissy Killian. Once that wraps - about 10 PM, we'll all go on one final mission against the Klingons and Borg before the Experience closes at 11 PM.

Sunday brings no planned events for the day, but we'll have one last chance to enjoy a meal with each other before parting ways until next year. Details on the brunch will be forthcoming in updates to this site.
